Discover Auckland by bike with Clycycles. Whether you need a bike for a weekend adventure, a daily commute, or a longer-term rental, we have the perfect option for you – from e-bikes and mountain bikes to touring and kids’ bikes.
Booking is easy – you can reserve in advance or simply pop into our store and pick up a bike on the spot. Every rental includes a helmet, lock, and map, so you can ride safely and confidently.
Our local team is here to keep you rolling smoothly and make sure your cycling experience is as convenient and enjoyable as possible.

Local Rental Process

Local Inquiries
To start the rental process, please contact us via the Contact Form. We reccomend getting in touch at least 3 days before your rental date.
When you contact us, please include:

Your preferred rental date and time period

The type of terrain you’ll be riding on

The height and weight of each rider

Any extra accessories you’d like to rent (helmets and locks are included)
This helps us match you with the perfect bike and get everything ready for a smooth rental experience.

Bookings and Payment
Short Term Rentals (Under 1 week)

To make a booking, you can either book online through our website here, or email us and pay in store upon arrivial.
Long Term Rentals (Over 1 week)

To confirm a booking or deposit, you can call Clyde at 02102736250 during our business hours, or contact us via Email.

We recommend making a $100 deposit for us to hold a specific bike.

We accept deposits via MOTO payment, Credit Card, NZ Bank Transfer, and PayPal.

Bookings and deposits are to be made a maximum of 6 Months, and a Minimum of 3 business days from rental date.
Note - There is a 1.4% surcharge on all Credit Card MOTO Payments.
Note - No refunds on deposits made.

Pick Up
Please call us prior to arrival to confirm a pick up time during opening hours on your rental day to pick up your bike and accessories.

Please bring ID with you, such as an NZ Driver’s Licence or Passport. (We will take a photocopy of these documents.)

Payment for the rental will be made in store.

Allow for at least 15 minutes for selecting bike, test riding, and picking accessories. We will also give your bike a final mechanical check to make sure it is in great condition before we hand it off to you. On busy days, this process may take slightly longer.

Drop Off
Please return the bike and all accessories in a clean condition.
Staff will check over the items and bike upon return, allow up to 5 minutes, once completed, you're good to go.
If your bike comes back in a non-rentable condition, extra fees may apply.

You will be charged per day for rentals returned late. Please give us prior notice if or when plans change to return your bike.

No returns on Sundays or any other Closed Days. If you would still like to return during these days, a $50 Call-Out fee will apply and is only available when arranged at least 24 hours prior to the return day.

E-Bike Rentals in West Auckland
If you’re looking for something fun, classy, and functional, Clycycles has a range of e-bikes for hire from the German-designed brands NCM and ET.Cycle, along with the NZ-designed Evinci brand. These electric bikes began their lives brand-new and are in great condition with very few miles on the clock. Easier to ride than your standard mountain bike, these e-bikes have pedal assist to effortlessly power your way up and down hills, and are also equipped with a hand throttle, for when you don’t want to pedal at all! Different speeds available to adjust your cruising and control your battery usage.

Any rentals required for a longer term, it is recommended you purchase a used bike and return for a guaranteed buyback of 50% upon return, up to a maximum of 6 months from the day of purchase
Example: You purchase a standard used bike for $400. If the trip planned is for much longer than a month, return anytime within 6 months, no matter the condition, we guarantee to give back $200 as our 50% guaranteed buyback. Buyer also has the option of selling elsewhere if they can obtain a better price.
E-bike Rent-to-buy offer
If you enjoyed the E-bike and wish to purchase it after the rental period, we can credit the rental cost towards the total cost of the bike purchase.
A great price for eBike Rentals in Auckland
As e-bikes are a little pricier than regular bikes, so are the rentals. But for each day, week or month you add to your rental, the daily cost becomes cheaper. We hire our bikes out on an hourly, daily, weekly, fortnightly, or monthly basis, to fit your own schedules.
At Clycycles, we understand that a real adventurer lives on a budget. Our ebike rentals are reasonably priced to reflect the value of the bike. And if you decide you love your bike so much that you want to keep it, ask us about our Rent-to-Buy offer, where we can credit your rental cost towards the purchase of the bike. Each rented e-bike comes with a helmet and lock free of charge. Please bring a credit card or form of ID when you come to pick up the bike(s).
E-Bikes for Hire that won’t break down
From the moment you ride out of the shop, you can trust that our bikes are secure, safe, and properly maintained. Every rental bike is tested before use, with oiled chains and fully pumped tyres to reduce the chance that you’ll break down or injure yourself.
If this is going to be the first time you’ll hire ebikes in Auckland, we can provide you some great tips and locations for touring or scenic riding. The local shops here in Henderson are just a quick pedal down the road, or if you’re looking for something a little more adventurous, we can recommend some magnificent trails further out in greater West Auckland.
